A Guide to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
A Guest post written by Vero Beach Photographer, Heather Hinson
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort combines two of the best things: Disney Magic and the beach.
Built in 1995, Vero Beach Resort is a Disney Vacation Club property that is quietly nestled along Florida’s treasure coast.
Things to do
While Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is tucked 100 miles away from all of the action at Disney Parks, there is still plenty to do.
At Eb and Flo’s rentals, you can rent bicycles for a breezy bike ride along the beach. You can also set up surfing lessons for the kids at Eb and Flo’s rentals. Florida’s Atlantic coast is home to some of the world’s top professional surfers, like Kelly Slater. So you can be sure there are plenty of amazing waves to catch in Vero Beach.
If relaxation is your goal, you’ll likely enjoy spending time in the shaded lounge chairs along the beach. Or maybe you’d like a fruity beverage from the poolside bar. In addition, you’ll also find cozy hammocks to lounge in.
If the kids bore of building sand castles, they can head to the pool and take 1, 2 or maybe 100 turns going down Pirate’s plunge pool slide.

Disney’s Vero Beach resort also hosts sea turtle walks during nesting season. For an additional cost, you can reserve a sea turtle walk. You’ll be able to witness loggerhead sea turtles lay their eggs along the shores of Vero Beach. These walks begin at 9PM and are only held on specific dates throughout June and July.
If that isn’t enough, you can end your day roasting a marshmallow on a beachside campfire.
Disney’s Vero Beach resort offers character dining during Saturday brunch. Enjoy a tasty breakfast while meeting Goofy and friends at Seagrape.
You can also enjoy excellent Key West shrimp and coconut grits at Wind and Waves Grill. Or grab a quick lunch at Wind and Waves Market. In addition, you can enjoy a mixed drink at the poolside bar.
Accomodations
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers suites and multi-bedroom villas. In addition, they also have a 3-bedroom beach cottage that can sleep up to 12.
You can also opt for an ocean view, and wake up each day to a breathtaking east coast sunrise.
Activities
Get out on the water and have some fun with a rental from Seabreeze Cabana Company. For example, you can rent a kayak, boogie board or even a wave runner. The resort also offers freshwater fishing lessons for kids on their private lake.
Do you have a golfer in the family? You can ask the front desk about some of the world class golf courses in the Vero Beach area. Or, if you are looking to just have some fun, there is miniature golf available at Port Holes Mini golf at the resort too.
About Vero Beach
Aside from the Disney Resort, Vero Beach is a charming little coastal city with lots to explore. Vero Beach earned its title as the treasure coast because of all of the gold and silver that has been found from 18th century shipwrecks.
In fact, you can still snorkel a shipwreck reef that is just a short swim from the shore off of Ocean Drive. It isn’t The Dutchman but it’s still an extremely cool sight to see! Head to the Ocean Grill Restaurant and learn all about it! Then maybe take a swim and search for treasure like Captain Jack Sparrow.
Vero Beach also has a wonderful seaside shopping district with cute boutiques and tasty treats.
It is also less than 2 hours from the Disney World parks, so you can also enjoy the parks during your vacation.
When you are done exploring Vero Beach, you can relax in a tropical oasis at McKee botanical gardens and start planning your next trip
