If you are the photographer in your family, then you know what it’s like to NEVER be in the vacation photos. I sometimes wonder if my family will even remember what I looked like years from now! Disney has solved that problem with their PhotoPass system. Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the parks to capture great family photos in all the iconic locations. And with the Memory Maker package, you can download unlimited PhotoPass photos for one price.
This is one of those package add-ons that I think is really worth it. Currently, you can buy the Memory Maker package for $169 if you do it at least 3 days in advance of your trip. If you wait until you arrive (or afterwards) it will cost you $199.
I’ve known guests who downloaded literally hundreds of PhotoPass pics, so you can certainly get your money’s worth out of the Memory Maker package if you try. Naturally you’ll want to pose in front of Cinderella Castle, but if you’re not planning to do a lot of character meet and greets, you might wonder if it will be worth it for you.
My girls are now teens, so we typically don’t do too many characters any more, and we’ve been so many times that we tour in a more casual way now and don’t stop as often for photos as we did on our first few trips. But even for us, I found the package to be worth it. The biggest reason? Ride photos. You just can’t get these any other way.
If you don’t want to purchase the Memory Maker package, you can buy photos individually, but they can add up quickly. Pics are currently priced at $18.95 for a set of two 4 x 6 prints or one 5 x 7 print or $20.95 for one 8 x 10 print. On my most recent trip, I downloaded only about 15 images, but even that would have cost me $284 plus tax if I’d bought them individually.
